Nigeria is a funny country, people like, whether you wish or not to associate you with your great and successful relatives. My friend Chris Atamata’s profile has been rising and changing constantly in the past five years at a rate that is alarming.

Chris is an entertainment personality and gospel artiste cum businessman and sometimes preacher cum pastor… take your pick.

His dad, as the story goes raised Dr Jonathan and they have maintained strong family ties. Why not?
Anyway, back in time when Chief Alamieyesiegha was Governor of Bayelsa state and Dr. Jonathan his deputy, Chris was known in Yenagoa as DEGOV’S brother. When Lucky Joe took over Alams’ job, his status changed to Governors brother. With unhindered access into Yenagoa Government House.

Not long after luck again smiled on Dr Jonathan he became Vice President. Chris moved with him to Aso Rock and became the VEE PEE’s brother.
Twenty eight months after, Chris’ status has changed yet again. He has now become the President’s brother. I pray his luck continues to hold.
