Breaking News: UCH Ibadan Now a Ghost Town
The University College Hospital Ibadan, one of the nation's leading specialist teaching hospital is now like a ghost town following the doctors' strike that commenced two weeks ago and the nurses' trial strike which started on Tuesday.
"There is a little boy whose parents pay N30, 000 daily to keep him alive, he was supposed to have been operated on but obviously that can't happen until the strike is called off."
The situation according to her is absolutely pathetic;
"No patients are being admitted, the emergency section is not in operation, toilets are locked and cleaners not working. the consultants are working but how much can they do. A few patients who had surgery before the strike are being attended to. There is skeletal nursing activity to ease out these patients."
